There Is Only ONE Satanism

I still see this on the Church of Satan's Twitter's comments sections but it's also been showing up A LOT on my personal Instagram's post's comments section in the last several weeks.  I'm going to settle this once and for all and I'm staying silent on the matter from now on unless someone really pushes my buttons.

"Why is (The Satanic Temple/literally any other organization that claims to be Satanic or that claims to be theistic Satanism) not a legitimate Satanic organization just like the Church of Satan?"

I'm going to try to explain this in the simplest way that I can.

Prior to the founding of the Church of Satan in 1966, there was no evidence of the existence of any above/below ground Satanic groups.  The term "Satanic" was/is used by Christians or any other ignorant groups and individuals that describe things and people they considered "evil" or things they plain don't like.  Many people who went along with being accused of being "satanic" mainly go with it for weird reasons, mainly because they think they're sticking it to the Christian church or they've fallen for the twisted propaganda about what Satanism actually is.  Some become devil-worshippers, which is completely different than being a Satanist.  These kinds of people are mainly heretical Christians who are rooting for the "bad guy."  This kind of stuff from the last several centuries happens to this day, even after 1966 and the founding of the CoS.

In 1966, Anton LaVey founded the first legitimate above-ground Satanic organization, the Church of Satan.  The Satanic Bible came about 3 years later.  It's the book that holds the core of Satanic philosophy.

Prior to this, LaVey tried his hardest to find evidence of actual Satanic and other occult groups.  And trust me, he definitely tried.  All he found was bullshit.  He felt the need to begin a legitimate Satanic organization, the very first Satanic organization ever.

Throughout the decades, many people would try to start their own satanic groups.  These are mainly people who were unhappy with the direction the Church of Satan was taking.  A lot of these people just borrowed and took apart much of the philosophy and mannerisms of the CoS and even just ditched The Satanic Bible altogether.

You can't call groups like TST a subset of Satanism because they don't follow the principles of The Satanic Bible nor do they wish to have connections with the CoS (and the feeling is mutual).

To drive my point further, I'll mention an example I heard in JD Sword's podcast that he heard from another Church of Satan member:

Colonel Sanders made the original recipe for KFC Chicken.  Let's say someone else comes along and tries to make their own fried chicken and passing it off as KFC.  They'll reject major ingredients and herbs and spices and so forth.  If that someone tries to pass off that chicken onto you, would you accept it as KFC?  Absolutely not!  It may be fried chicken, but it's not KFC.

(JD Sword, if this is somehow copyright infringement, please let me know).

That's basically the case with every pseudo-satanic group that was made after 1966.

I hate that I have to use the term "LaVeyan Satan" because the phrase is redundant and it's like acknowledging that there is more than one type of Satanism.  However, I feel like I have to do this to try to keep pseudo-Satanists away.  Obviously, it's not working.

In summation, if it ain't from The Satanic Bible or from the Church of Satan, it's not Satanism.  There is no "theistic/spiritual Satanism," no "Luciferian Satanism," etc.  This is the main point I try to make to people when they try to argue with me online.  But they just want to live in fantasy land.

Hail the one and only Church of Satan!  Hail Satan!
